3rd Seminar: Cihan University-Sulaimaniya Quality Assurance
Third speaker was Mr. Hemen Rasheed Agha the Director of Quality Assurance and Lecturer of Public Law at Cihan University – Sulaimaniya, College of Law. Mr. Hemen Rasheed Agha evaluated and presented his findings about how much Internal quality assurance policies and procedures vary among institutions, however they largely focused on academic program reviews that are based on self-evaluation and peer review. However, a mandatory review of all new and substantially revised programs, seminars, activities, workshops and other scientific collaborations should be contributed directly to Curriculum evaluations, Student satisfaction surveys, and the process and quality assessment results. Mr. Hemen also emphasized on the role of head of departments in monitoring the activities and fulfill the requirements within the departments, and Strategic Plans for Academic Departments. He emphasised that each department is required to have their own strategic plan which sets out the vision for how the department will develop, as well as having Research Strategy, individual goals and objectives.
