بەشی وەرگێڕانی زانکۆی جیهان سلێمانی پێشانگایەکی زانستی بۆ خوێندکاران کردەوە
On Sunday, April 14th, 2024, the 4th stage of the Medical Laboratory Analysis Department at the College of Health and Science – Cihan University-Sulaimanya, went on a scientific trip to PharmaGen Lab. The visit was organized under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Fryad Majeed RAHMAN and Miss Areej Abdulkarim Alzbeede, the lab assistant, with the aim of enhancing students’ understanding of advanced techniques related to molecular and genetic studies of human diseases.
The primary objective of the visit was to expose students to the cutting-edge technologies and methodologies used in genetic testing and molecular diagnostics within a commercial clinical laboratory setting. The students were given a comprehensive overview of the laboratory’s operations, focusing on the diverse range of genetic tests and diagnostic services offered by the lab, including the detection of genetic diseases, hereditary diseases, cancer genetics, and diagnosing infectious agents (viruses and bacteria) using advanced instruments such as Real-Time PCR, Sanger Sequencing, NGS. Additionally, they learned about cross-matching tests for kidney transplants and bone marrow transplants through Flow Cytometry and Lumineux instruments.
