English Department Hosts 3rd Student Exhibition (Grammatically Correct: A Poster Presentation Event)
On 15th October 2022, The Department of Architecture at Cihan University Sulaymaniyah organized an international workshop jointly with UN Ponte Per (UPP), UNDP Iraq, and Halabja Disabled Organization (HDO). This workshop comes within the framework of HIWAR PROJECT titled ‘Youth Empowerment and Inclusion of Youth with Disabilities Project’. The international workshop discussed and in particular focused on ‘The role of accessibility features in enhancing community consciousness’.
The international workshop comprised two sessions; the first was a lecture delivered by Mr. Hikmat Marouf, ‘Disability Rights Activist’, and the second lecture was delivered by Mr. Auder Omar, ‘A Workshop Trainer’. The objectives of the workshop were to discuss what is meant by accessibility and its importance to participants, further, how an inclusive society through accessibility could be built? Also, standards and methods of proper accessibility for buildings were discussed.
