Scientific Trip: Visit to DUKAN-2 Water Treatment Plant
On January 31st, 2024, fourth-grade students from the Architecture Department of Cihan University-Sulaymaniyah visited the Rotana Hotel-Sulaymaniyah. Under the supervision of Assistant Professor Mrs. Binaee Yaseen, Assistant Lecturer Mrs. Khuncha Fadhil, and Research Assistant Esra Noori, the students had the opportunity to explore the luxurious design and contemporary property of the hotel. This scientific trip holds immense importance for architecture students as it exposes them to innovative ideas, physical and social conditions, and diverse cultures and traditions, enhancing their interpersonal skills as future architects.
In addition to the architectural aspects, the visit also exposed the students to various physical and social conditions. By examining the layout and design of the hotel, they gained insights into how architects consider factors such as natural lighting, ventilation, and acoustics to create comfortable and sustainable spaces. They also had the opportunity to interact with hotel staff and guests, further understanding the importance of social considerations in architectural design.
