English Department Hosts 3rd Student Exhibition (Grammatically Correct: A Poster Presentation Event)
On 19th Oct 2019, seminar presented jointly by Dr Awat Haji and Asst. Lecturer Hemen Rasheed Agha. The seminar illustrated a general concepts and understanding of the preliminary investigation process and trial phase from a common law perspective. The seminar made comparison between the Iraqi criminal procedure investigation system at both the initial and trails stages. The presenters explained the differences between both systems of investigation namely the Adversarial and Inquisitorial in order to convey a better insight on the theoretical bases that various legal systems have been based on. The second phase of the seminar focused on the Plea Bargaining stage of the trail process. The plea Bargaining has four types and they include: Charge Bargaining, Sentence Bargaining, Plea negotiation, and Fact Bargaining.
