On May 4th, 2023, a groundbreaking seminar took place between the research center of Cihan University-Sulaimaniya and the research center of Kiev National University of Construction and Architecture. This seminar aimed to boost the citation of articles and increase the quality of the publication in the academic sphere. The event was presented by esteemed speakers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fakher Rahim and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nameer Qasim, both renowned experts in their respective fields.
The collaboration between the two universities was initiated to encourage knowledge sharing, promote research excellence, and develop innovative approaches to challenges faced in the construction and architecture sectors. In an age where the importance of impactful research is more significant than ever, this seminar sought to provide a platform for researchers from both institutions to discuss best practices, strategies, and methodologies for producing high-quality publications.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fakher Rahim started the seminar with an insightful presentation on the importance of citations in the academic community. He explained that citations serve as a measure of the impact and relevance of research, as they indicate how often a publication is referred to by others in the field. Dr. Rahim emphasized the need for well-structured and well-written articles, as these are more likely to be cited by other researchers, thus increasing their overall impact.
Following Dr. Rahim’s presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nameer Qasim provided an in-depth analysis of strategies to improve the quality of research publications. He underscored the importance of rigorous peer-review processes, collaboration between researchers, and engaging with the latest technology and tools to produce innovative and groundbreaking research. Dr. Qasim also highlighted the need for researchers to be well-versed in current trends and issues within their fields in order to produce relevant and engaging content that resonates with fellow academics.
The seminar also provided a platform for researchers from both institutions to engage in an interactive Q&A session, where they discussed challenges and opportunities in their respective fields. This open dialogue allowed for the exchange of ideas, fostering a sense of camaraderie and partnership between the two research centers.
