
On 30th April 2023, Dr. Fakher Karim and Dr. Hastyar Hamarashid from Research consulting center, and Dr. Nameer Hashim from computer science at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya conducted a productive video conference with a PhD student Mr. Shad Arif Mohammed, from Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, Germany. The focus of the conference was to discuss the current advances of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Biological and Medical data and explore the potential of using AI tools to aid diagnosis in biological samples in Kurdistan Region.
The conference resulted in a mutual agreement to plan an intensive training course. The objective of the training course is to train Scientists and Physicians from the Universities in Kurdistan region/Iraq on how to use and apply AI to aid decision-making on medical and biological data. The proposed training program aims to develop the skills and knowledge of participants in AI applications, including data analysis, machine learning, and computer vision.
The discussion highlighted the importance of AI in the healthcare industry, specifically its potential to assist physicians in making accurate diagnoses. AI applications can be used to analyze vast amounts of biological data, providing insights and identifying patterns that may not be apparent to human researchers. The application of AI in healthcare can improve patient outcomes, accelerate diagnosis and treatment, and reduce healthcare costs.
