On 4th Feb 2023, the Students of Medical Laboratory Analysis and Medical Microbiology Department at Cihan University celebrated World Cancer Day.
Brwa ali salih and shajwan faraidoon a second stage medical laboratory analysis and medical microbiology students organized a presentation for world cancer day. also sozyar mohammed sediq third stage student of medical laboratory analysis department prepared a brochure related to World Cancer Day and distributed it among the students.
They talked about what cancer is and how it occurs in individuals and the death rate worldwide caused by cancer. also they talked about the four stages of cancer and the type of cancer and cancerous tumors in the human body and where they are and how they appear in individuals and then we talked about how this types of cancer is diagnosed using laboratory tests such as the following (Blood chemistry test, complete blood count, Cytogenetic analysis, Immunophenotyping, Liquid Biopsy, Sputum Cytology, tumor marker test, urinalysis, urine cytology, faecal occult blood test, prostate specific antigen test ) and imaging tests and then talked about the symptoms of cancer which are (breast changes; swelling or lumps; bleeding or bruising, skin changes, bladder changes; fever or night sweats; neurological problems, Bowel changes which is one of the essential things related to cancer.
