Student Activity: Toward a More Sustainable Campus through Innovative Design and Practical Application
On 15th October 2022, Cihan University Sulaymaniyah, Department of Translation organized an international workshop in collaboration with the State University of New York (SUNY), College at Oneonta.
The international workshop titled ‘Making and Breaking Stereotypes: Mitigating Stereotypes’. Moreover, the international workshop comprised two sessions; The first session was presented by Assistant Lecturer Bahra Jalal Tahir, faculty member of Cihan University Sulaymaniyah; The second session was presented by Denise Leinonen, Global Program Coordinator in the State University of New York (SUNY), College at Oneonta.
During the workshop, presenters discussed and focused on types of Stereotypes and the ways of Mitigating Stereotypes. The purposes of organizing this international workshop by The Department of Translation comes within the framework of scientific and academic plans set out for the academic year 2022-2023. Furthermore, the executive plan of the department for the academic year also includes a range of cultural and academic activities in order to enhance lecturers’ and students’ particular skills and capacity building through various academic activities.
