This presentation explores lexical lacunae at the word level at the context of English-Kurdish scientific translation. It introduces the concept of lacunarity, demonstrates the multi-layer nature of lacunae and finally demonstrates the translation procedures employed to overcome the diverse subtypes of lacunar phenomenon.
