The Computer Science Department at Cihan University Sulaimaniya recently hosted a comprehensive 36-hour IT training program for the IT team of Gasin & Tasluja Cement Companies. The training commenced on February 9th, 2023, and concluded on May 4th, 2023.
Gasin & Tasluja Cement Companies are two of Faruk Investment Group’s most significant projects aimed at building, promoting, and enhancing a robust infrastructure for the region’s economy. These plants are situated in the Southwest of Sulaimani, with Gasin located approximately 35 km away from the City Center and Tasluja around 30 km away from the City Center. The training program was designed to equip the IT team with the latest technological advancements and best practices in the field of information technology. The program covered a wide range of topics, including network security, database management, and software development.
A+ training validates the latest foundation-level knowledge and skills needed by today’s computer support professionals. It is the starting point for a career in the Information Technology industry. A+ training proves competence in a technician’s ability to perform essential IT tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventative maintenance, basic networking and security. It also confirms a technician’s understanding of customer service and communication skills needed to work with clients.
Two types of courses have been delivered which are necessary to be certified: A+ 220-1101; and A+ 220-1102. A+ 220-1101 covers PC hardware and peripherals, mobile device hardware, networking and troubleshooting hardware and network connectivity issues. A+ 220-1102 covers installing and configuring PC operating systems including Windows, iOS, Android, Apple OS X and Linux, as well as security, the fundamentals of cloud computing and operational procedures.
This training would be beneficial for individuals looking for IT employment in positions such as technical support specialist, field service technician, IT support technician, IT support administrator and IT support specialist. CompTIA A+ is part of the certification track for corporations such as Microsoft, HP and Cisco. Other technology companies, including Dell, Intel, Lenovo and Ricoh, have made CompTIA A+ certification mandatory for their service technicians. The A+ training may be kept current through the Continuing Education program at Cihan University Sulaimaniya. The total cost of the training was 3000 USD, including a Mock exam for seven participants and full package of course requirements.
