On 6 February 2023, a severe earthquake struck southern and central Turkey and northern and western Syria. As a result, the massive quake killed more than 47,000 people and damaged or destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes. Currently, large numbers of victims are left homeless and sheltering in tents. Students of the English Department at Cihan university sulaimanyah raised funds to support relief efforts.
