On Sunday, January 19, 2025, the Translation Department at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya hosted a workshop titled “Personal Experience and Literary Translation,” focusing on the exceptional contributions of Saman Karim, a renowned translator and musician.
The event celebrated Saman Karim’s pivotal role in translating numerous significant Turkish literary works into Kurdish. His ability to preserve the cultural and emotional essence of the original texts while making them accessible to Kurdish readers has established him as a key figure in literary translation.
Assistant Lecturer Aziz Raouf provided an analytical overview of Saman Karim’s work, shedding light on the techniques and cultural nuances reflected in his translations.
