Further, the workshop also discussed, the value of the Iraqi Dinar that was established against the US dollar, the reasons and motives for the depreciation of the Iraqi dinar, and the effects of the devaluation of the Iraqi dinar – the increase in the value of the US dollar – during (2021-2022) on markets and individuals, foreign trade and the general budget in Iraq.
Despite the positive effects of the process of devaluing the Iraqi Dinar on government revenues, the general budget, and the rationalization of public expenditures, its effects were negative on individuals and local markets.
