On November 29th, 2023,The department of Accounting has organized a national workshop entitled “Accounting education and neglected field. The workshop was presented by Rabar Omer Rashid, Asst. Lecturer from University of Cihan Sulaimaniyah and Wshiar Omar Mustafa, Asst. Lecturer from Sulaimani Polytechnic University.

The workshop delved into the crucial realm of account education, as a language to translate business activities into numbers. It also discussed about the foundation courses in order to understanding the principles of accounting, and the main domain such as finance, management and marketing.

Nonetheless, concentrating into neglected fields of accounting education, spotlighting on that topics around vital themes including Sustainability Accounting, Cryptocurrency Accounting, Cybersecurity & IT Auditing, Forensic Accounting, Artificial Intelligence (AI) & automation, Ethical Accounting, and Professional Standards. This initiative underscored the urgency for comprehensive education in these areas and highlighted their profound impact on the future of accounting practices.
