On 10th August 2022, an International workshop was held between Cihan University Slemani and Islamic Azad University Sanandaj Branch titled The constitutional challenges in Iraq in the light of the rule of law and international human rights laws. As Iraq has undergone many changes since the withdrawal of US troops, nevertheless, Iraq continues to face formidable legal and institutional challenges. Therefore, the need for constitutional guarantees of fundamental rights, and the lack of a solid legal framework that embodies the rule of law has always been a challenge to the delivery of justice that stems from Iraq’s new judicial federal system. The federal judiciary’s efforts to assert its independence have always been hampered; addressing these challenges has had a significant impact on the nation’s ability to overcome ongoing conflicts and prevent future conflicts. Maintaining Iraq’s current path of progress and protecting human rights and the rule of law will require continued commitment; by strengthening the laws and constitutional institutions in any society governed by the comprehensive implementation of the laws. To achieve these goals; Iraq will need radical changes in its legal institutions.
