On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the Translation Department of Cihan University Sulaimaniya organized a scientific tour for second- and fourth-year students to KurdSat Broadcasting Corporation. Supervised by Assistant Lecturer Nawroz Mohammed Abdulrahman and coordinated by Teaching Assistant Alaa Nuri Hama Said, the visit aimed to provide students with insights into translation, dubbing, subtitling, and various aspects of media communication.
As part of its academic initiatives, the Translation Department arranged this educational visit to KurdSat Media to offer students practical exposure to translation techniques and media-related language services.
The primary objective was to enhance students’ understanding of how translation and interpretation function within media organizations and to familiarize them with the professional workflow in broadcasting. Upon arrival at KurdSat, the students received a warm welcome from the media institution’s staff. They were given an in-depth introduction to various departments, including translation, dubbing, and news broadcasting.
The KurdSat team provided practical explanations of the challenges and techniques involved in media translation, helping students bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice. This visit marked an important step in preparing students for careers in media translation, offering them hands-on experience in a real-world professional setting.
