Student Activity: Toward a More Sustainable Campus through Innovative Design and Practical Application
On 25th of September 2018, the computer science Department held a seminar entitled Improving the Webometrics Ranking of Cihan University By: Dr.Lway Faisal Abdulrazak. A several Examples of domestic university were considered to evaluate weakness and strength in Cihan- Slemani score. However, by considering World University Ranking systems, it was found that two main factors had decrease Cihan-Slemani in the Webometrics Ranking, these two factors are:
- Impact – We miss good quality pages – research reports, educational resources, and blogs.
- Excellence – Good quality papers published in high impact Journals should be considered to improve next ranking results.
- Urgent need to put practical solutions for improving the universities ranking in the Webometrics ranking, in adding metadata , weblog, Links, Web Hosting, groups on Yahoo and Google, Build Institute page on Facebook, Twitter, SlideShare, researchgate, LinkedIn, Flicker, YouTube, iTunes, Open Course Ware, Wikipedia, etc.
Hall 1217 was felled with the audience from over all university departments, and many questions were asked during and after the seminar session.
In conclusion, we found that it is necessary to take actions towards improving university ranking for the next intake.
