Student Activity: Toward a More Sustainable Campus through Innovative Design and Practical Application
The Architectural Department at the Cihan University-Sulaimani Campus organized a scientific trip under the supervision of (Mrs. Binaee Yaseen and Miss Lanya Aziz) to the residential project “The Hill” near Chwar Chra in Sulaimani, which was held on the 13th November 2021.
The trip aimed to introduce the students of the Second Stage to the design of Residential Villas to highlight the significance of their spatial layout to accommodate the various functions of the house, as well as the construction of such a project.
During the visit, the different construction processes of the respective units were discussed, starting from the excavation and foundation work to the final stages of insulation and finishing materials of the exterior and interior. The students, furthermore, visited the proposed site for their Residential Villa Project to analyze the site conditions and context for their subsequent designs.
