Student Activity: Toward a More Sustainable Campus through Innovative Design and Practical Application
Assist. Prof. Dr. Kosar Hikmat Hama Aziz of Cihan University Sulaimaniya recently published a review article in the highly reputed journal Desalination and Water Treatment, which has an impact factor of 1 and is ranked in the top quartile (Q1) by Clarivate and Web of Science. The article, titled “Removal of toxic heavy metals from aquatic systems using low-cost and sustainable biochar: A review” explores the use of low-cost biochar for wastewater remediation from toxic heavy metals, discussing its preparation, adsorption mechanisms, modifications, and the need for further research to enhance its efficiency and sustainability.
