Student Activity: Toward a More Sustainable Campus through Innovative Design and Practical Application
On 4/1/2022 the third stage students of the Architectural Engineering Department presented their works of designing their second project of the year, titled: Primary/ Elementary School (12 classes) for (300-360 students) on a (14000m2) plot that is located in Chwar Chra neighborhood/ Sulaymaniyah.
The project has been presented under the supervision of the staff of the Architecture Design Module.
The school essentially includes Classes, labs, Administration, workshops, studios, library, services and sanitary facilities alongside outdoor spaces, playgrounds, landscape and car parking.
In the design, some standards have been considered such as:
- Lighting quality (Natural lighting)
- Noise/Acoustic control
- Internal Environment Quality
- Safety
- Security
- Fire protection
- Hygiene
- Water and Plumping Piping systems
All with the consideration of future expansion and structure flexibility.
