Student Activity: Toward a More Sustainable Campus through Innovative Design and Practical Application
On Wednesday April 10, 2019. Dr. Bakhtiar Sabir Hama in English Department presented a seminar on “The use of Language in Literary texts”. In the seminar, he focused on the significance of studying the language of literature from a linguistic point of view to understand the texts and to be able to decode what is encoded by the authors. He paid attention on four aspects such as lexical ambiguity, prepositional phrases as a delaying technique, cohesion and coherence and semantic field to show the effects of verbosity. Each aspect was clarified and explained with examples from literary texts.
