On December 4, 2023, Cihan University’s President Professor Dr. Omid Rafiq Fatah, along with Hemen Rasheed Agha, Director of Quality Assurance, represented the institution at the final conference of the APPRAIS project.
Driven by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan region, the APPRAIS project aimed to enhance the education system. As Kurdish universities embraced the European Higher Education model, APPRAIS played a pivotal role in implementing the Bologna Process, focusing on governance system rebuilding and modernization.
The specific objectives of the project included improving governance, supporting Bologna Process implementation, enhancing quality assurance mechanisms, and adopting university reforms. The outcomes showcased the university’s commitment, including roadmaps for Bologna Process implementation and validated institutional action plans.
Key results featured a comprehensive report on governance and quality assurance in Kurdish universities, eight university roadmaps, and strategic institutional plans. The project successfully trained university leaders, academic and administrative staff, fostering a culture of strategic planning, quality assurance, and internationalization.
Cihan University Sulaimaniya’s participation in the APPRAIS project underscores its commitment to advancing higher education in the Kurdistan region.
