English Department Food Talks
On Wednesday 22th January, 2025 _The English Department at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya organized an academic trip to the City Cinema for first-year (juniors) and second-year (sophomores) students to watch Nosferatu, a classic vampire film. The purpose of the trip was to introduce students to Gothic literature and explore the cultural and literary inspirations behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula, a cornerstone of the Gothic genre.
The trip was supervised by Ms. Tafan Kamal Kareem, who guided the students in understanding the film’s historical and literary significance. This experiential learning opportunity enriched the students’ grasp of Gothic themes and their impact on literature and popular Irish culture.
