Student Activity: Toward a More Sustainable Campus through Innovative Design and Practical Application
On 21st Dec 2022, the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University Sulaimaniyah commenced the Building Rehabilitations final submission by the Fifth stage students.
These projects’ rehabilitation proposals have been designed under the supervision of the Assist Lecturer. Sarko Hassan and Research Assist. Shyam Wahid, lecturer at the Department of Architectural Engineering. A number of adjudicators who are experts in their fields were invited namely Mr. Hama-Abdulla, Mrs. Niaz Hassan, and Mrs. Nasreen Karim.
These projects focused on how to preserve, rehabilitate, and maintain as much as of the original character, authenticity, and history. And, reproducing materials, and replicating techniques were also utilized wherever possible. This also enabled the inclusion of bringing outdated utilities and systems up to date where required.
