On September 29, 2024, the third-stage students of the Architectural Engineering Department at Cihan University Sulaymaniyah visited the Mayorka City Project as part of their academic curriculum. The field trip was designed to enhance students’ understanding of construction techniques and the preparation of detailed working drawings, a critical component of their “Working Drawing” lecture.
The visit was supervised by Asst. Lecturer Barham Abdul and Research Assistant Lara Dara, who guided the students through various sections of the project site. During the visit, students were introduced to the intricate process of translating architectural designs into detailed working drawings, which are essential for the successful execution of construction projects. The site visit allowed students to observe the structural elements, material specifications, and technical requirements necessary for preparing comprehensive working drawings.
This hands-on experience enabled students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications, offering them valuable insights into the complexities of architectural documentation and project execution. By exploring the on-site conditions, students gained a deeper understanding of how to effectively communicate design intent through accurate and detailed drawings.
Such scientific visits play a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice. These trips provide students with the opportunity to experience real-world architectural challenges and solutions, preparing them for their future careers in the field of architecture.
