On September 28, 2024, the third-stage students of the Architectural Engineering Department at Cihan University Sulaymaniyah visited the Dina City project as part of their academic curriculum. The scientific trip aimed to familiarize students with the architectural design and planning of a residential housing complex. This experience was integral to their “Residential Housing Complex Design” project, a key element of their Architectural Design lectures.
Under the supervision of the department’s teaching staff, the students explored various aspects of the residential complex, including building layouts, open spaces, circulation systems, and overall urban integration. The visit provided an invaluable opportunity for the students to observe how architectural principles are applied in the development of large-scale housing projects, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic quality.
This field trip enabled the students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, enhancing their understanding of residential complex design. By witnessing the practical aspects of site planning, spatial organization, and building integration, students gained insights into the challenges faced when designing sustainable and efficient housing projects, which is critical for their academic and professional development.
Such scientific trips are designed to offer students hands-on learning experiences that complement their classroom education, fostering a deeper comprehension of housing design and urban planning. Through these visits, students acquire practical insights that are crucial for their future roles as architects.
