Anesthesiology is one of the relatively new fields of Medical Sciences. In recent years, great developments have taken place in this field. After the discovery of the science of anesthesia, great steps have been taken in the science and art of pain control. The task of anesthesia specialists is not limited to operating rooms, but they also provide valuable services in chronic and acute pain management, intensive care units, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and pain clinics.

Department of Anesthesiology was established in 2021-2022 at Cihan University – Sulaimaniya. There is a bachelor’s program in the Department of Anesthesiology now. The duration of undergraduate study is four years and granted a bachelor’s degree in Anesthesiology. Currently, the Department of Anesthesia uses experienced national and international instructors to teach undergraduate students of Anesthesia. In addition, by providing modern educational facilities and required medical equipment and cooperating with the hospitals. the students of this field are taught in the best possible way, both theoretically and practically.
