Student Activity: Toward a More Sustainable Campus through Innovative Design and Practical Application
On April 30, 2024, the General Education Department of Cihan university-Sulaimani held a seminar for assistant lecturer Basta Nazar Mohammad, entitled Fostering Students’ Motivation in English Language Teaching.
Fostering motivation in English language teaching is essential for encouraging learners to engage actively with the language. Teachers can cultivate motivation by creating a supportive and stimulating learning environment where students feel valued and confident to take risks in their language learning journey. Incorporating varied and interactive activities, such as games, discussions, and real-life language tasks, can help maintain learners’ interest and enthusiasm. Additionally, acknowledging and celebrating their progress and achievements can further boost motivation, reinforcing their sense of accomplishment and encouraging them to persist in their language learning endeavors. By nurturing a positive and motivational atmosphere, teachers can inspire students to actively pursue proficiency in English.
