Student Activity: Toward a More Sustainable Campus through Innovative Design and Practical Application
On May 11th, 2024, the General Education Department hosted a national workshop, entitled A Dialogue on Stigma: Psychological and Educational Perspectives. The topics were presented by Prof.Dr.Nazar Mohammad Mohammadamin, a well-known Kurdish Psychiatrist, Dr.Adil Mohammed Noori, and Asst.Lect. Basta Nazar Mohammad.
Understanding the term stigma is crucial as it directly impacts the mental health and well-being of students. Stigma can create barriers to seeking support for mental health challenges, leading to feelings of shame and isolation. By comprehending stigma, universities can implement initiatives to combat it, fostering a culture of acceptance and support. This not only enhances the overall campus environment but also encourages students to prioritize their mental health and seek assistance when needed, ultimately improving academic performance and personal development.
