a seminar presented about the differences between possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns. The adjectival categories of French and English are different, and on the other hand, these differences may have an impact when switching from one language to another in translation. All the units that are identified as adjectives can be listed and counted according to their semantic class and their syntactic functions, as well as the syntactic function of each of the associated nouns, the type of determiners, and the type of equivalence to which the translation had given rise. Our goal then is to observe the general trends and to highlight any discrepancies between the distinctive features from a macroscopic point of view.
