Online English Conversation Class – Cihan University of Sulaimaniya

The course has a set of broad communicative goals, and by the end of the course, we want our students to be able to understand more spoken English and have more confidence speaking, communicating, and functioning in English. We focus on pronunciation, vocabulary, common phrases, and English conversation. During our new student intake, we evaluate the students’ English proficiency, solicit their feedback for skills and content that is important to them, and then we design more specific goals and lessons to meet the students’ needs.

Fee: $150

Duration: 12 hours of instruction spread over 4 weeks with 3 hours of lessons per week.

Requirements: In order to participate in the course, students need a reliable internet connection and an electronic device like a laptop/PC, tablet, or phone capable of making video calls. We make use of technologies like Zoom, Voice Thread, and Google’s suite of products.

Further Studies: At the conclusion of the course, students might decide to reenroll for additional training, move into the more academically rigorous Intensive English Program, or decide to pursue other personal, professional, and/or academic goals with the skills they have acquired.

Teaching Staff: All courses are taught by professionals with a minimum of a master’s degree in TESOL/Applied Linguistics or a closely related field.

Placement Test: At the present, we have a mixture of student English proficiency levels in one class, but with a sufficient number, we can divide students into separate classes based on their English proficiency and their self-identified needs. We would also be able to cater the student learning outcomes to Cihan’s needs.
