Dr. Anvar Soleimani, a lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Medical Microbiology, College of Health Sciences, Cihan University, Sulaimaniya, has published an article in the esteemed Journal of Pathology – Research and Practice. This research article explored the intricate roles of epigenetic and post-translational modifications (PTMs) in regulating ferroptosis—a form of programmed cell death—and their implications in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common type of liver cancer. The complex functions of epigenetic and post-translational alterations in controlling ferroptosis provide valuable insights into their potential as therapeutic targets in HCC. Unravelling these pathways offers a significant opportunity for novel therapies to surmount drug resistance and enhance patient outcomes in liver cancer.
